Our February 7 Super Bowl club event, with playing conditions well above everyone’s expectations after a stretch of rain/snow/cold, had a great turn out of 22 teams--44 in a shotgun format. There were three flights tightly bunched in handicap and every team had an opportunity to impress and compete with a chance to win their flight.
Some outstanding scores were turned in by almost every team which was a great credit to the weather, the course and the format of the competition.
Flight 1 winners—Team of Ken Carter and Rick Vieth (65 gross), winning on a countback from Brett Sponseller and Tripp Edwards (67 gross). Their nets: 64.
Flight 2 winners--David Riley and Larry Stallcup with an outstanding net score of 62 (gross 66).
Flight 3 winners: A tight battle decided on a countback with Dean & Carolyn Gosnell beating out Chuck Orr Jr and Clubhouse Grille owner Trish Balentine with an tremendous net 66 with both shooting around par with their gross score.
Thanks to all who participated. A tremendous day of golf and fun was had by all. Many competitors carried on the festivities by dining at The Clubhouse Grille and watching the New Orleans Saints triumph in Super Bowl XLIV.
Thanks to all that made the day a success and special thanks to Roger, Trish, Amy, Kelly and Rhodes for helping us out in every regard to make it a great day all around.

Bradley pictured in front of the 1994 Presidents Cup sign, a display at the 2009 tournament. He was an International Team player in 1994. As a player in the inaugural Cup in 1994, he was welcomed to attend this year’s staging of the event in San Francisco and enjoyed a great week to catch up with the players and also get to play some great courses in the area, including The Olympic Club site of the 2012 United States Open.
